Crawl Walk Run Games is an independent studio making apps that help children learn real skills from school, one step at a time.
Why we started
Kids deserve better than flashy and shallow
Too many kids' apps are built to keep children tapping, not to help them learn. They are full of ads, they push purchases at the people least able to judge them, and they drop children straight into the hardest part of a skill.
We wanted something different: apps a parent can hand over without worrying, that teach a skill properly, and that show grown-ups what their child is actually learning.
The name
Why “Crawl Walk Run”?
You have to crawl before you walk, and walk before you run. That simple idea shapes every app we make.
Crawl
Each skill starts with plenty of support, from the very first step, so every child can get going.
Walk
The support fades as confidence grows. Hints help when needed and never make a child feel bad for a mistake.
Run
Children finish by doing the whole skill on their own, and grown-ups can see the progress it took to get there.
How we build
What guides every app
One skill, taught deeply
Spelling, money, telling time. Each app focuses on one skill children learn in school and teaches it in the order teachers do.
Private by default
No ads, no analytics and no accounts. A child's progress lives on the family's device, not on our servers.
Made for young hands
Big buttons, simple screens and words read aloud, so children who are still learning to read can play on their own.
Honest with parents
A free version that is truly useful, a clear explanation of what a purchase unlocks, and purchases kept behind a grown-ups-only question.
